From an exponential tail bound to almost sure convergence

Problem

Let X1,X2,…X_1,X_2,\dots be i.i.d. with Xi∈[0,1]X_i\in[0,1] and mean μ\mu, and let Xˉn\bar X_n be the sample mean. Using Hoeffding's inequality and Borel–Cantelli, prove that

Xˉn→μalmost surely,\bar X_n \to \mu \quad\text{almost surely},

and moreover that ∣Xˉn−μ∣≤2log⁡nn|\bar X_n - \mu| \le \sqrt{\frac{2\log n}{n}} for all sufficiently large nn, almost surely.

Write a complete argument. Every inequality you use should be one you could state precisely.

Opening this before you have a real attempt on paper is the fastest way to feel like you understand something you cannot reproduce.
