Problem

Let A⊆RnA\subseteq\R^n be finite with ∥a∥2≤r\|a\|_2\le r for all a∈Aa\in A, and let ε\eps be a Rademacher vector. Prove

Emax⁡a∈A⟨ε,a⟩≤r2log⁡∣A∣.\E\max_{a\in A}\langle\eps,a\rangle \le r\sqrt{2\log|A|} .

Deduce a bound on the Rademacher complexity of a class with growth function Π(n)\Pi(n).

Write a complete argument. Every inequality you use should be one you could state precisely.

Solution

Opening this before you have a real attempt on paper is the fastest way to feel like you understand something you cannot reproduce.
